A truly fantastic place, beautiful and quiet location, helpful staff, great food.
that there was a good restaurant in hotel -- as it is far away from the main center of Ubud. a very responsive shuttle servicethat it was very quiet.
Familly villas are very nice . And one bedroom villa ( the expensive one ) is recommened .
But the one bedroom villa ( $135) is not good , the smell of the room is really bad , like dusty and old . It' made us allergic..... And location is not beautiful .
the villa is gorgeous, spacious and comfortable. Spa and transport services were excellent
not much going on as it was low season.
We booked for one room villa but got upgraded to the biggest villa, the Papyrus Villa. It is a gorgeous glass-wood open-concept villa at far end. It has a garden and seats. We love to open the sliding glass walls to unite with the green surroundings. The design is artistic but comfortable. A small stream flows below but we can hear any water. There is cow barn across the stream and we often can hear ducks and insect. But no insect enter the villa. We love it. Very quiet.
The bathroom is also made of glass panel, neighboring to a local house anda staff parking lot. The walls too low and plants too sparse. I keep worrying that someone happen to passby during shower. And there is no bathtub, which can offer even greatest experience.
its natural setting and tranquality
Beautiful surroundings Laid back atmosphere The sound of frogs and crickets.
Not a dislike but not central although free shuttle during the day. About ten minutes by car.
Loved the individually designed villas in a quiet and quaint setting amidst lush foliage. My room was right in front of the communal pool which was simply great. All I had to do was to slide the bedroom door open and walk out to the pool, which was usually quiet, unlike some other places where the pools are always filled with shouting kids and adults alike. This place was peaceful, quiet with discerning travelers. The front desk staff was always attentive and helpful.
The shower cubicle did not have a door so after shower, you will find the floor completely flooded, what made it worse was that the "flood"was right in front of the toilet area. So if it doesn't dry up in time, you will be walking into puddles everytime you sit on the toilet.
The service is amazing, the Villas are great and clean
Nothing, everything was perfect. I can maybe just say that the hotel is not close to the center of Ubud but Taxi's are so cheap in Indonesia and the hotel got a free shuttle service during the day.
The Art Gallery, fantastic restaurant, friendly staff, very spacious villas with indoor and outdoor shower. Quiet location.
Every thing quiet luxury with a great blend of modern and Balinese
Hopeless shower... No real big deal however easy fixed
Very comfortable, spacious villa, with stylish furnishings. Cosy, natural style, swimming pool.
Great atmosphere and cottages. Unique style and yet it has a homey feeling. Service was good and prompt.
Gaya Villias are a small group of 6 Viilas nestled on the edge of the river. Very beautiful and quiet location, great for relaxting. The Art Gallery has an exhibition on every month or so with interesting works from different artists around the world. My Villa, Villa Jepun, was fantastic for one person or a couple with a huge bathroom with shower and toilet as well as an outside shower. Large bedroom with floor to ceiling windows in either side, tv, phone, safe and a big wardrobe. There is a huge living room with a table seating 6, and lounge area with mini-fridge and the whole room is glass doors on either side one looking out into the jungle the other into your backyard where there are two sun chairs. For the most part I really enjoyed my stay, there are some improvements to be made but overall I would be happy to recommend the Villas. The bungalows are a little lower in standard, still lovely, but I much preferred the Villa.
The pool was not useable as it was very, very dirty as in unhygenic. It needed a big does of chlorine to kill the bugs. It does sit in the middle of the reort and overlooks the jungle with a large undercover gazebo to relax and eat your breakfast in. There are two bungalows on either side and even thought it is a quiet resort I would imagine that would be a little annoying having other guests outside your door. If you are looking for somewhere that is walking distance to any facilities like shops, restaurants etc then this is not for you. The resort will run you into a Ubud free of charge up until 4pm, about a 15min drive. The only other complaint would be the food, not great is all I can say. Spring rolls are good and the Gelato is really good. I would stay there again, the staff are lovely and the Villas are good.
